Celebrating Christmas in the Tavern

However you celebrate the season, I'm wishing everyone a holiday filled with joy, peace, and love!

As a special treat, I'm sharing a Christmas morning favorite ~ Mincemeat Bread. It has been in my family since I was a young girl.

Enjoy!

Mincemeat Bread

2 ¼ cups sifted flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

½ cup firmly packed brown sugar

2/3 cup evaporated milk

4 tablespoons melted butter

1 cup mincemeat

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. Beat eggs in another medium bowl. Add brown sugar, evaporated milk, melted butter, and mincemeat to eggs. Stir until combined. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour.
