#Medieval Monday with ELSBETH by Lane McFarland

Welcome back to Medieval Monday! We're starting an amazing 14 weeks of a new theme: Hero and Heroine First Encounter. We'll be sharing snippets of an entire excerpt over the next few months. Not only do we have a new theme, but new medieval authors. This week, my lovely guest is Lane McFarland. In addition, follow along with my own excerpts and leave a comment, which begins on Lane's blog ( http://lanemcfarland.com/2017/08/medieval-monday-with-mary-morgan-4/ ) for a chance to win a digital copy of Dragon Knight's Axe, along with some other fabulous books.

Here is Lane's first snippet from her story, Elsbeth. Enjoy!

A loud bang sounded outside.

Elsbeth jumped from the bench and spun toward the solar door. That was the courtyard gate. Who would arrive at this time of night in a blizzard?

An insistent knock rattled the heavy front door. The urgent noise reverberated down the corridor. She eased from the solar. Legs shaking, she hurried across the hall and peeked out the small window overlooking the courtyard. Her gaze swept the interior walls. Dense snowfall hid any sign of intruders. Nothing appeared out of the ordinary.

Join me next week to find out what happens at Ruth Cassie’s blog! http://ruthacasie.blogspot.com/

Blurb:

Elsbeth MacDougall recoils at the violent Scottish rebellion and the bleak plight of orphans. Vowing to protect the homeless, she embarks on a journey to Scone and sets her course to become a nun, sheltering children from the cruelties of war. But when Brandon McLeod arrives at the Abby, he shakes her convictions and stirs provoking emotions she buried long ago.

After English soldiers murder his family, Brandon McLeod determines a course of revenge and leads numerous clans in Scotland’s fight for freedom. Bent on the annihilation of English oppression, he is resolved to a life of solitude, vowing never to marry and chance the pain of losing loved ones again. However, that was before he met the enchanting Elsbeth.
