Spotlight New Release Interview | DEVIL FORGET ME by Karilyn Bentley

Please make welcome my dear friend (and sister Rose from The Wild Rose Press), Karilyn Bentley! We're celebrating her new release, Devil Forget Me, Demon Huntress Series, Book 5, and I've been eagerly anticipating the return of Gin Crawford! The Tavern is serving a wicked margarita with chips and a spicy salsa, so get comfy and let's hear what Karilyn has to say...

MM: Welcome, Karilyn! Congratulations on your latest release! I can hardly wait to return to the world of Gin Crawford!

KB: Hi Mary! Thank you for letting me blog with you today! I'm excited to announce, Devil Forget Me, the fifth and final book of the Demon Huntress series, is out now! While it's sad to write the last story of my heroine, Gin Crawford, it's also exciting to release this story. Gin is quite the character and has been a blast to write. She says and does things I would never dare. Except while writing. Ha!

MM: Big sigh...I so hope Gin will return in future spin-offs? Yet, I know what it's like to finish a series and move on to the next. Describe a typical writing day. Are you a morning, afternoon, or night-owl writer?

KB: I'm an evening writer because I have a day job. And I really need my sleep so getting up early or staying up late doesn't work for me. But on the weekends, I prefer to write in the morning and get my word count in.

MM: Sounds great! Can you tell us about your current work-in-progress?

KB: I'd love to! Gin Crawford, the world's newest demon huntress, must solve the mystery of which demon haunts the halls of her esteemed employer, The Agency. The problem? The demon cast a forget-me spell rendering humans ignorant of their true identity. You have to read more to see how, or if, she solves the case.

MM: Intriguing, Karilyn! Definitely looking forward to the story! What’s your favorite item on your writing desk?

KB: Lately I've been writing at the kitchen table. So maybe the dinner plate? :)

MM: Of course! You’ve been given a golden ticket to time travel into the past. Whom would you meet and why?

KB: Some of my relatives I never met but have heard stories about. It would be fun to meet and interact with my ancestors.

MM: I can definitely relate, Karilyn. Now for some fun questions. Do you prefer...

Champagne or Beer? Beer!

Southern drawl or Scottish burr? Scottish burr

Kilt or Leather pants? It depends on who is wearing them!

First romance you read? The first one I remember reading is Kiss of the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon (Love her books!)

Print book or e-reader? Both, although lately it's been more e-reader

Thank you again for having me on today, Mary!

Always a pleasure, Karilyn! Come and visit us anytime.

Backcover blurb for DEVIL FORGET ME ~

What appears to be a simple crime, unmasks a chilling deception...

Gin Crawford, the world's newest demon huntress, kills two minions who are breaking into a financial adviser's office. But what she thinks of as another night in the life of a demon huntress leads to a cover-up of epic proportions. A demon haunts her employer, the Agency, and only she can stop it.

Aidan Smythe, her guardian mage and lover, along with her brother T, and the healer Eloise, join her search in discovering the demon's identity. A search thwarted by a powerful spell.

Breaking the spell requires her to join forces with Zagan, the demon of deceit, the demon who marked her as his. But working together comes with a price. One Gin is not sure she can pay.

Sneak Preview from DEVIL FORGET ME ~

She chuckles as I sip my beer. “Not nothing. I am trying to discover the identity of the demon at the Agency.” She frowns. “It’s not going well. I know I know who the demon is, but every time I think of its identity”—her hands move in a poof motion—“itvanishes.”

“Yeah, I have the same problem.”

A memory pops into my mind. Two memories, actually. The first was of last night’s fight with Rahab. How the demon said he only had one demon left to kill in order to rule Hell. Mammon, the demon of greed. The second memory was from last week when Smythe and I went to the Agency. We ran into Chuck Tweedy, the Big Boss of the Agency, and my justitia couldn’t stop chanting “greedy.” I assumed the bracelet got its words mixed up, exchanging Tweedy for greedy. But what if there was a connection?

A dull pain hammers my head. I rub my brow. What was I thinking? We were talking about the Agency demon. Who could it be?

“You do have the same problem.” Eloise touches my leg, and the headache disappears. “That’s what happened to me.”

“How did you know?” Eloise was blind, although I swear at times she sees fine. “I could feel your pain.” Her brow furrows. “Like a spell had been thrown at you that caused the headache. I wonder if the same thing happens when I get a headache from thinking on the demon’s identity.”

“Wait. You mean whenever I think about who the demon is, my thoughts trigger a spell? What does the spell do?”
