Long and Short Reviews Weekly Blog Challenge | 07.01.20

Goodness! Where did June go? I've missed most of last month's challenges. I won't bore you with the details. I prefer to press onward with this week's challenge.

The topic for this week had me chuckling... The last place I traveled to and why. Seriously? What's traveling? Can I count trips to Walmart, Trader Joe's, or another market? Ha!

Instead, I'll think back fondly of my traveling adventure to the Monterey coast last October. I have family there, so it's always a joy to visit them. I love the ocean and though it's a three hour drive from our home, I enjoy the scenic trip to reach the coastal town.

The reason for the trip was two-fold. We wanted to visit our family and needed some time to recharge and rest. The ocean is a soothing balm, and the Monterey Peninsula is stunning. Their summer doesn't usually arrive until September-October. Fog dominates the first few months of summertime. I should know since we were fortunate to live there several times.

And what's a visit without spending time at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, right?

It was an amazing trip and I truly long to return, if only for a day.
