Long and Short Reviews Weekly Blog Challenge | 1.29.2020

If you've read my Winter Newsletter, I stated, "A new year of possibilities beckons!" Yep! This has become my word for 2020, and I'm eager to try something new. Although I'm late in jumping into this challenge, I'm hopping on board the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews. The topic for today is: Best book/movie/TV couples.

Honestly, I could twist this topic into so many meanings. Seriously, my friends. Does it mean my favorite book turned into a movie on the big screen or for television? Or, is its meaning best book, movie, and TV couples? I think I'll go with the latter. ;)

Best book: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

This was a difficult decision, based on the many best/favorite books in my collection. I've been an avid reader since a young child, so when I scan my lifetime of reading, it's vast. Yet this one book changed my outlook on reading and guided me on a path of my own Scottish ancestry, and my first trip to Scotland. It was an epic adventure, much like reading Outlander. No, I didn't pass through the stones to another time, but I experienced many awe inspiring, magical moments on my first trip. In addition, the birth of my series, Order of the Dragon Knights was created in the Highlands of Scotland.

Best movie: Braveheart

Do you see a pattern of my favorites? Once again, I've returned to Scotland! Yes, there are many historical inaccuracies with this movie. However, the movie fueled my own desire for freedom, love, and passion for the country. And let's not forget the music! Oh, aye! I've listened to the soundtrack many times while in my writing cave. Spectacular!

Best TV Couples:

Since I'm in one of those quirky moods today, I've chosen a special television couple. If you know my writing, it's a mixture of paranormal and fantasy. Therefore I'm only choosing one of my all-time favorite couples: Catherine Chandler (Linda Hamiliton) and Vincent (Ron Perlman) from Beauty and the Beast. Psst...I'll let you in on a secret. I went to a Beauty and the Beast convention! It was surreal and so much fun.

Well that's my list, my friends. What do you think? And if you're curious on what the other authors have to say, hop on over to Long and Short Reviews here!
