Medieval Monday Concludes with "To Weave A Highland Tapestry"

Welcome to the final week of our ongoing theme of nature on Medieval Monday. I hope you've enjoyed these wonderful snippets and found a new medieval author and/or book to add to your collection. It's been delightful, my friends. But do not fear, Medieval Monday shall return.

I'm sharing my final installment from To Weave A Highland Tapestry. If you haven't had a chance to pick up your copy, now's your chance to grab the digital for only 99 pennies!

Snippet from To Weave A Highland Tapestry

Gwen’s pulse raced. The man overwhelmed her senses. She brought her hand up to his cheek, and this time, Patrick did not flinch from her touch. “I am true to my vows.”

His head lowered and Gwen parted her lips, anticipating the first brush of his mouth against hers.

“For the love of Lugh and all the Gods! Why are ye outside, MacFhearguis?” bellowed Duncan.

Startled, Gwen tried to remove her arm from Patrick’s grip. Lifting his head, he glared at the other man. The fierceness in his sudden demeanor shocked her. Were all men so hardened in medieval times?

Duncan halted his stride, staring at her and then snapping his gaze to Patrick.

“Do not fret like an old woman, MacKay. I was merely making sure the lass came to nae harm.”

Duncan surveyed him coolly. “Now why would harm befall her in the gardens of Urquhart? Is she in danger of being eaten by Cuchulainn?”

The dog gave a low growl and wandered over to Gwen’s side.

Duncan approached and ruffled the fur on the animal’s head. “My pardons, old friend. Ye would have done all in your power to protect the lass, if danger presented itself.”

Patrick MacFhearguis, hardened by battles won and lost, desires what he can never have—peace within his heart and soul. Yet, the ever-meddling Fae weave a new journey for him to conquer—a task this highlander is determined to resist.

When skilled weaver, Gwen Hywel, is commissioned to create a tapestry for the MacFhearguis clan, she embraces the assignment. While seeking out ideas, she finds herself clutching the one thread that can alter the tapestry of her life and heart.

A man conflicted by past deeds. A woman with no family of her own. Is it possible for love to unravel an ancient past, in order to claim two badly scarred hearts? Or will the light of hope be doused forever?
