Recollections on an Anniversary and #Giveaway
Four years ago, my first book, DRAGON KNIGHT'S SWORD, Order of the Dragon Knights entered the world. Was I prepared? No. I didn't have a clue in regard to marketing, but thankfully, I had been a regular blogger and on facebook for several years. I threw a lovely party on facebook (which lasted for 8 hours), and was a guest on blogs during the summer.
The Angels (and Fae) must have favored me with many blessings, since the book soared the first six months. To say the road has been easy would be a lie. I had to learn to balance the business side with the writing, along with negative reviews and issues with others. And no one prepares you for post-release day. What do you do to keep the momentum going afterwards? It's simple. If you love your story, you keep finding new ways to put it into readers' hands. In addition, I've developed a turtle shell (for tough times) and begin my day with positive affirmations.
Another tidbit I've learned along the way. "The pie of success is large enough for everyone to take a slice." We all deserve to achieve this goal of being a successful author. I love cheering on my author friends. It's not always about me.
In two weeks, my ninth book, OATH OF A WARRIOR, Legends of the Fenian Warriors, Book 2 will enter into the world. There are days when I have to pinch myself. It's a phenomenal business I've stepped into. I love to weave a good tale and have been blessed by all the outpouring of emails, cards, and private messages telling me how much my stories mean to them.
You, dear readers, are my source of inspiration. You inspire me to achieve more. To dig deep within my well of fantastical imagination to give you the best. Thank you!
